Many developed countries are way ahead in terms of technology and development from other parts of the world but their birthrates are facing a decline, while on the other hand their life expectancy is facing an increase. This essay will explain if this is a positive or a negative event, potentially having an effect on the countries near future.
Generally, a maintained population is believed to be good for the country and its habitants, but in order to achieve it two factors play a major role – which are, “life expectancy” and “birthrate”. In countries which are well-built, the life expectancy is facing a constant increase while the birthrates are falling, which may maintain their population but might not be of positive interest. Although, people residing their might have a greater life to enjoy but the country’s future is dependent upon the youth of the country. Elders at one point need to take a break and the new generation should takeover but if the birthrates are facing a decline this might not be the case. Even if the life expectancy increased, it does not mean that elder people would always want to determine their time and skills for the country’s sake, so it is a negative impact on the country’s economy and well-being.
More importantly, most countries are dependent upon the youth for their intellectual abilities, meaning that they can adapt to new changes quite well. On the other hand, people who have passed their youths, are not so adaptable when it comes to modern day opportunities. However, the elderly may have way more experience in terms of practical life, but they still need the new generation to take their places as they need to retire at one point in their life. The youth have the ability to find new ways which could be of benefit to the country and know how the modern world works. Provided that, the birthrate continues to decline, the countries could face a major risk in the near future, and may not be able to flourish, whatsoever.
Conclusively, I would like to say that even if the population of a country seems to be maintained, it does not always mean that it is a positive outcome. Birthrates of a country should either be at a constant level, or face an incline for the country to make progress in the present and the future.
