Task 2
In modern epoch, the issue of overcrowded prisons is rising. There are several discussions on whether prisons are useful or not. This essay will delve into the reasons why criminals should be punished even harder.
There have been some arguments claimed that prisons are not effective, and they are not really working. It suggests that even after offenders are released from prisons, they will go back to prisons again in a short term. Therefore, the problem with overcrowded jails and high maintenance fees for prison prisons are phenomenal and noticeable.
However, I inclined that prisons are useful and necessary for our society and the law breakers should be punished harder. Prisons work as a barrier to separating criminals from other citizens. This can ensure people’s safety and prevent murders and other crimes being executed. Additionally, education programmes are often provided in prisons in order to support offenders with life skills. In this case, the people in the prisons can have opportunities back to normal life after being released.
Furthermore, I strongly agree that criminals should be punished and regulated harder, rather than being rehabilitated. It’s crucial that the rising awareness of the consequences of crimes can warn people and potential criminals from conducting harmful acts or crimes. As a result, the numbers of criminals will decrease significantly due to strict punishments. This can solve the problem of overt overcrowded prisons.
