Many communities nowadays strongly emphasize that people should adapt sustainable living to help decrease environmental consequences. While sustainable way of living is not impossible to achieve, there are some problems that may arise in completely adapting this lifestyle.
One of the challenges that many individuals face today in adapting an eco-friendly lifestyle is that alternative products and resources are costly. For instance, organic goods available in the market are much more expensive than the commercially-produced ones because growing and manufacturing them takes a long time as well as may need much more resources as compared to those produced in factories. As a result, not all people can adapt to this way if living. It is mostly attainable by those who are privileged enough to afford the lifestyle. Additionally, some environmentally friendly products need more time and resources to manufacture, therefore, are not easily accessed by the people. Majority would still settle for a cheaper, widely available goods even if the production process of these things greatly impacts our environment.
On the other hand, there are still several ways every person can do to be sustainable. One of these is recycling as well as proper waste disposal which do not cost much money and is easy to do. Simple activities like these can still contribute in helping the environment. However, the most important action an individual could do is to ask for responsibility and assistance from authorities. Collective individuals demanding from the government can make a huge change through implementation of sustainable products making it more accessible and affordable.
In conclusion, although sustainable living greatly helps the environment in so many ways, there are challenges that may arise in an effort to achieve this lifestyle. However, there are also simpler alternatives people can do to start their way into sustainable living.
