In today’s age, air pollution in many cities is increasing to such an extent, which makes people noticeably worried. I assume the main drivers of this phenomenon are emissions from factories and plants as well as the usage of transport. Regarding effects, I believe they significantly contribute to global warming, and result in health problems in humans.
One of the main causes of air pollution could be that industrial plants release harmful gases and toxins into the air. It is often explained by the fact that those factories run on non-renewable energies and fossil fuels such as coal and oil which means they are often burned, emitting gas-phase pollutants (ozone, carbon monoxide and etc.). For instance, people in Tashkent city can easily see the smoke coming out of industrial chimneys which has contributed to being one of the most polluted cities in Central Asia in 2026. Similarly, another major source of air pollutants is traffic. All on-road vehicles such as cars, buses, trucks, and motorbikes emit the huge amount of CO.
Air pollution contributes significantly to global warming through heat-trapping pollutants. As mentioned above, when fossil fuels are burned in vehicles, power plants, and industries, large amounts of CO and methane are emitted into the atmosphere. These gases accumulate over time and trap heat, intensifying the greenhouse effect and increasing the global temperatures. From another perspective, exposure to air pollution leads to various health issues, including respiratory problems. When people breathe the polluted air, the lungs are severely affected. In the long-term, those dangerous compounds in the air can inflame their lungs and airways, making them vulnerable to different infections. As a result, this particular phenomenon could easily lead to premature deaths all over the world.
In conclusion, power plants and industries are often seen as the major source of air pollutants. Other no less relevant factor is the use of transport, which emit CO. Tangible effects are rising global temperatures and risks of diseases which can even lead to death. We need to take care of the environment, as it is essential for the well-being of present and future generations.
