Band 4+: In many urban areas, the widespread adoption of electric scooters and bikes has created new safety hazards and clutter on sidewalks, while also reducing the use of public transport. What are the key problems caused by this trend, and what policies could local authorities introduce to balance the benefits of micro-mobility with public safety and order?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays in our areas, the electric scooters and bikes already used by people and created new safety hazards and clutter on sidewalks, meanwhile the use of public transport reduced. This is a huge problem and local authorities need introduce policies to balance the benefits of micro-mobility between public safety and order.

Thesedays, people around the world often used electric scooters and bikes. it can be happened by several things, such as fear of missing out, healthy life, etc. This trend can be seen as a positive ways and negative ways. I will give point of view from the negative side firstly.

For example, in my country Indonesia. On the one hand, a lot of people around Jakarta used bikes more than public transportation. It can be seen as a negative things because they people likely to blocade the street to their cycling activity for example. Something like car free day also make people suffer because they cannot go well with their public transportation or their own another transportation. The Goverment should make a policies to balance the used of electric scooter or bikes with public transportation. On the other hand, the used of electric scooters and bikes also has positive trends. People more healthy and can reduce polution.

So, from the both sides we can see that both electric scooters or bikes and public transportation has negative and positive sides. The local authorities or we known as Goverment should take this problem seriously and with full of responbility. Because its important to keep public safety.
