Band 6+: In many workplaces, creativity and imagination are becoming more valued then technical expertise. Why is this the case? Is this a positive or negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In a wide range of workplaces, the ability to think creatively and imaginative thinking are being given greater importance than specialized knowledge. This trend is primarily driven by increasing of activities that require creativity for the effective use of digital technologies, while a large proportion of specialized things can be provided by these technologies. I regard this to be a substantially positive development as it leads to improving of creative members of society and contributions of them to the community.

The primary reason for the decline in requirement for technical abilities is broad availability of digital technology. Today, most of the professional offices possess digital tools that deal with the major special work well than human-beings. So, there is no much need for specialized people. Nevertheless, creativity and conceptual thinking abilities are warranted for utilizing them properly. As, if technology exists, but not proficient human for using it in productive activities, technological systems will just be established thing that is not employed and has no any contribution to a company. For instance, in the company of Azerbaijan called ‘Fab Boya’, most of the industrial procedures are facilitated by digital sensors and computers, there are just some creative professionals for managing these tools and giving them more beneficial algorithm codes.

I firmly believe that this shift is a profoundly positive development. Initially, teenagers and society members who need occupation, will try to enhance mainly their creativity and imagination skills by coping with practical pursuits than just memorizing some existing specific facts that will result in creating of more beneficial objects and service for the general public, and it will contribute to well-being of people. For example, in Great Britain a growing proportion of innovative teenager in Start-Up competitions culminated in more useful products for the population.

To sum up, the transition away from requirement of predominantly technical proficiency to demanding of creative vision and conceptual thinking is a logic consequence of development of digital technology. Ultimately, this change is remarkably beneficial because it results in availability of more useful and innovative outputs for society members.
