Buying clothes from second hand stores is increasingly becoming a trend among younger people these days. This popularity is happening because of the recycling movement, which young people are becoming increasingly aware of, and because second-hand clothes are far more affordable for these generations. I believe this is a positive development, considering its impact on the environment.
At present time, more younger generations are into the idea of reusing cloths as a part of recycle program. Many of them believe that buying new clothes contributes to more rubbish in the future because of the long degradation time for a single item of clothing. Additionally, the cost of clothes from thrift shop are less expensive compared to new ones. This is more financially suitable for these young people as they have not earned much incomes. In my experience, buying outfits from thrift shop helps me save a lot of money as these clothes cost less than buying branded ones.
In my opinion this is a positive movement because of its good impact for earth environment. The trend of reusing clothes is preventing people to buy new clothes that are unnecessary which most of the times only ended up in rubbish bin if they are no longer use it. If this kind of behaviour prevail it would create a pile of used clothes that ended up in garbage which can affect badly for the environment due to its long degradation time. Instead, these clothes can be recycled by putting them in second hand store and let other people use it.
In conclusion, many young people are getting their outfits from thrift shops because of the believe in environmentally friendly movement and the cost-efficient price. This is a good development as this brings positive effects to our environment.
