In this day and age, residents in cities are encouraged to use tools in public libaries such as books instead of using their own equipments. In this essay, I will evaluate both the pros and cons before concluding whether the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
On the one hand, there are clear benefits associated with this trend. Public libaries contain a range of books from different sources, making books more accessible for residents because some items are unaffordable for poor individuals to buy on their own. Moreover, public reading environment as well as its tool help to create positive reading habbit for the communities especially teenagers and childrens. For instance, thanks to public libaries a child who does not like reading books is now has a great impression on it. As a result, he not only can develop his reading skills but also broaden his horizon.
On the other hand, this trend also has many problematic issues. Going to public libaries can be both money-wasting and time-consuming. This is because residents have to pay for transportation’s fees as well as spending time to reach the destination. Moreover, reading books at home is more practical because you do not have to wait for someone to give back the book you want to read. Also, using your own equipments is much more comfortable. In addition, cleaning operations at public areas such as libaries are not ensured safely. Eventually, this can cause diseases for the users.
In conclusion, although there are some drawbacks related to this approach such as money-wasting, time-consuming and the cleaning operations, I firmly believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, not only the accessibility of books or tools but also the positive influences.
