In recent years, one of the common environmental problems is plastic pollution that negatively affects humanity and nature. This essay will discuss what consequences this problem has and provide solutions.
Plastic contamination has several problems such as negatively affecting animal life and polluting air which can have a significant impact on people’s health. Sometimes plastic items like bags or containers that we consume every day can affect animals life. For example, fish or other animals in the ocean suffer from waste which people often throw into the ocean. Plastic waste can remain in the ocean for a long time and can obstruct marine animals, making it difficult for them to move freely. Additionally, plastic waste is gradually destroying our planet and people do not realise that they are destroying themselves. For instance, the plastic waste that one person throws on the ground gradually gets into the soil. As a result, this becomes air pollution and people who breathe this air over time become unhealthy.
To tackle this critical issue, both individuals and governments must implement effective solutions. On an individual level, citizens should reduce their consumption of single-use plastics and choose eco-friendly alternatives. For example, consistently using reusable canvas shopping bags and stainless steel water bottles can significantly lower daily household waste. On a larger scale, governments need to pass strict regulations banning plastic packaging and invest heavily in modern recycling infrastructure. By introducing higher taxes on plastic factories and funding green companies, authorities can successfully encourage businesses to adopt sustainable, biodegradable materials.
In conclusion, this problem becomes more and more common but people can solve this problem and it depends on people’s decisions.
