It is often argued that some population believe that society should be mainly responsible for solving social problems, while other thinks governments should deal with these problems. This essay will discuss both views. In my opinion, governments should have a greater responsibility, but individuals also have an important role.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why some nation think that individuals should play the main role for addresing social problems. One of the main arguments is that population may change their own behaviour. If every individual made small changes to their everyday behaviour, society would become a better place. For example, they can reduce pollution by using less plastic, recycling their waste and avoiding littering. As a result, the amount of waste in cities could be significantly reduced. This shows that individual actions can have a positive impact on society.
On the other hand, others debate that governments have a greater responsibility. The main reason for this is that governments have more financial resources and power to deal with these issues. If governments invested more funds in public services, many social problems could be reduced. For instance, governing bodies can create training programms and provide financial support for unemployed individuals. As a result, more people could find stable jobs and improve their quality of life.
In conclusion, although individuals can play an important role in solving social problems, I believe that governments have expanded possibilities because they have more resources and power to deal with these issues. However, both individuals and governments should work together.
