Band 6+: In some countries, only few young people go to classical music concerts or or play classical music. Why? Should young people be encouraged to attend and learn more?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In different countries a small number of a youth visiting classical music concerts and they do not play it as well. In my opinion, the reason behind this is the fact that classical music is not the way to express your feeling for young people. Moreover, i think that encouragement to learn about classical music will not lead to an actual interest in classical music.

Firstly, the reason why the youth is not interested in classic music is modern generation personality traits . Young people are tend to be more expressive, emotional and calm classical music does not align with their character. Nowadays, we have an enormous amount of different type of music where every soul could find their own peace. For example, the survey at my school this year, which was focused on what genre of music teenagers usually listen to and why they enjoy it. Most of the participants chose pop or rock as the favourite genre because it is more suitable for their mood as they explained.

In addition, some people think that an attempt to inspire young people to attend and learn more about classical music is the way to go, but it is not. Because it is the restriction of a free choice, what leads only to a rejection of what is being taught. For instance, a lot of families in Kazakhstan tried to drag their kids, grandchildrens to an elite classical music concert or trying to put them in musical schools to educate them in it, but most of those kids give up on schools or “survive” long concerts.

In conclusion, the encouragement attemt is not the way to make people listen to classical music and the diversity of music is the cause of classical music’s unpopularity among young people.
