Across the world, students are encouraged to work a part-time job, while some are against this development. In my opinion, it would be better for students to work part-time jobs.
On the one hand, it is thought that working a part-time job helps students be well prepared for the upcoming burdens of life. Those, who opt for working half time job during university years might face many obstacles with arranging their daily lives, as long as they have several responsibilities. At that moment, students can surely improve their time management skills, which is very helpful for their future career paths. Furthermore, by dealing with many challenges while working and studying at the same time, post graduaters are likely to understand earlier that the big life is not as easy as they may think. This allows them to be ready any kinds of the life’s unexpected surprises. Additionally, working a part-time job as a student enhances independency. Since, usually working students, do not ask for financial help from others, they have to sustain themselves. This offers students to live independently without any one’s contribution.
On the other hand, balancing work and education life is very problematic for students. Working students can barely find time to rest properly. Sleeping less may cause exhaustion, affecting loss of concentration and learning efficiency. Moreover, this side declines students’ performance. Managing both commitments can be a reason for reduction in the quality of both work and academic results, which makes students worse candidates. In addition, busy schedule for a day limits students’ personal life. When working after university classes, it is very hard for students to find a time to meet their close ones or even keeping in touch with them. Counting hobbies and pastimes would be impossible in this period, as a consequence students may feel very bored, exhausted, and they miss their relatives. However, to resolve this problems only rescheduling their daily lives, by adding meetings and leisure time activities would be enough.
In my view, working while studying is a better approach. By working, students can definitely develop their independency, by facing life’s obstacles, which is very helpful for them to live on their own. This also strengthens their time managing skill, allowing them to be more productive. The last and the most crucial factor of this development is that it prepares students for adult life, where they may fase many challenges.
In conclusion, while having a part-time job as a student is very important to get life lessons, it is also very hard to keep the balance between the two. Nevertheless, this side effect can be tackled, by maki more flexible schedule. I think, it is a good idea to have a part-time job within university years, since they can become more experienced people, who are already ready to live the bigger life.
