It is often argued that famous people responsibility to set an example for others by their good behaviours. From my point of view, I largely agree with this idea because of their considerable influence on the public. However, this responsibility should have certain limits.
To begin with, it is understandable why many people expected limelight person should demonstrate desirable behaviour. One major reason is that the famous people have a major influence is society life as a huge amount of fans they owned. Therefore, every celebrities actions, even the smallest one can easily be imitated by their own supporters, especially impressionable teenagers and children, influencing deeply impact to the fans’ lifestyle and may also affecting the way of dressing. A clear illustration of this is Taylor Swift’s tireless songwriting career, inspiring young people to encourage them work hard to achieve desirable goals. As a result, a positive public figure would a create a healthy and humane fan community, while the opposite one who behave improperly may foster some negative consequences and set a bad example.
On the other hand, it should not be expected to set an example in every aspect of their lives. This is because famous people still human beings, thus they have rights to make mistakes without overly being judged as well as deserve privacy life and personal freedom. Furthermore, schools and parents also play a key role in shaping people’s behaviour and morality, meaning that celebrities should not be solely responsible for setting positive examples as long as took behave appropriately for granted. A primary example is the widespread depression among Kpop’ idols, resulting from fan’s high expectations of absolute ethical behavior.
In conclusion, although I agree with people in the lime light should act as a positive role model, it should be given some ethical limits for this responsibility since celebrities still an individual and they have right for a certain level of freedom.
