In some nations, students studying at university decide to stay at home with their parents while they study, whereas others attend university far away from home and live in another city. In my opinion, I wholeheartedly opine that the advantages of living away from home during university outweigh the drawbacks.
On the one hand, living far away from family has numerous downsides. Firstly, students may suffer from loneliness. In fact, students who live alone would lack of being taken care from parents. They have to do housework such as laundry, dish washing, cleaning the house, etc… Moreover, when they face some problems in their life and study, nobody can listen, share, and understand them. Secondly, this situation is a big issue to some students, who lack of soft skills. Indeed, they have to learn how to cook by their own, earn money to pay for a basic needs like clothing, food, accomodation, etc,. Therefore, living far away from family brings significant bad points.
However, despite the aforementioned disadvantages, I strongly contend that the benefits of this trend outweigh the cons. The first reason is that moving to another city can open diverse opportunities for learners. This is mainly because city has more reputable universities, modern amenities, work chances for students, which can broaden their horizon. The next reason is that this situation can teach them valuable life skills. This is due to the fact that, by living alone, students need to learn how to take care of themselves. Hence, they can practice some neccessary skills, including cooking skills, money management, time control, which is useful for their future development.
In conclusion, although living away from home has various drawbacks, I fully agree that its benefit outweigh the disadvantages.
