In numerous cultures, it is the commonly believed that success come only with hard work. While this mindset can motivate young generation and build notable confidence, it also carries certain drawbacks. Personally, i think that this massage could be beneficial and should be given to teenagers, but with significant limitations.
On the one hand, promoting the idea to believe in their abilities has several benefits. Firstly, this concept helps develop a strong work ethic, as learn that perseverance and ambition are essential for success. For example, many talanted athletes often say that their achievements are the results of daily practice and discipline rather than natural opportunity. Secondly, such encouragement can boost children’s confidence. For instance, when young people believe that their goals are achievable, frequently they are more willing to take risks, try a lot of new activities and overcome of failure and fear. In my opinion, these skills are extremely valuable later in adult life.
On the other hand, constantly telling children that they can achieve anything if they try hard enough can create unrealistic expectations. I would say, that their ambition may push them to work more hard than their body can handle. According from analyse, many high-achieving students fall ill after exam weeks as a result of studying long hours without getting enough sleep. In addition, this way of thinking can be harmful their social life. For example, some teenagers make fewer relationships with friends because of focusing only on their goals.
In my view, balance is the best solution. Young people should be encouraged to believe in themselves, but adults must also remind them that hard work is one of the key in success.
