Band 5+: In the future, nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

I agree with the statement. Nowadays, people live in the digital era and there are many predictions about how future would be. People use smartphones consciously to search and find what they need, along with that habit we all know that physical information would not be necessary. It is also followed by many platforms that provide free information or entertainment for free so it will arouse people to replace the old technology.

Many argued that book and newspaper could be the one that caused an environmental damage because the production needs to cut down trees. As we all know that trees convert a deadly gas that humans breathe out, carbon dioxide, to a gas that are needed for human known as oxygens through the process called photosynthesis. Aside from the oxygens, this process could produce carbohydrates that found in our food. If this happen for long time, the heat from the sun will be trapped and cause the rise of global temperature.

Keeping up with modernization, researches has found the compact and light weight gadget that could provide us almost everything. The smartphones help up to stay in touch with our friends and families. Furthermore, the newest smartphone could predict the weather for the whole week, can tell us about the directions because there is GPS so it can show us the terrain to reach the destination, smartphone can be used to remind the user about today’s activities and with Bluetooth it can control your own washing machine. With vast various of features the physical information such as book and newspaper could be easily replaced and also smartphones cause zero waste to environment. Additionally, many apps or website gave users a free access so that people will be taking that chance with pleasure.

To sum up, in the future smartphones will be going to replace book and newspaper. Followed by the paper production that need to cut down trees that potentially harm the environmental while that tiny gadget did not. Also, people considered the weight they bring and cost they need to pay to buy a newspapers or books, with that light weight smartphones people would not bring any heavy things and could access to most of the information around the world. Just bring one thing then you know everything freely.
