The ability to work in a team and communicate with colleagues is a crucial part of the working process. Unfortunately, nowadays many employees lack such skills. In this essay I would like to discuss probable reasons and consequences of this issue.
Firstly, with the development of technology and emergence of instant messengers, methods of communication have changed significantly. More and more people prefer to discuss all tasks by e-mail or messengers. Therefore, most of workers do not know about all nuances of face to face communication, which are required at almost each working place. This can lead to a lot of misunderstandings or even argues in the collective. That is why the human factor has to be considered during negotiations between companies or even ordinary conversations between employer and employees.
Secondly, in the modern world people tend to pay more attention to their career ladder than teamwork. Salary and other extra job benefits mostly depend on personal achievements. Moreover, workers may prefer to get things done on their own without asking help from colleagues. All this factors create the incapability and unwillingness to work as a team and cooperate. Due to that the connection between the collective is weakening, which can lead to a decline of results and a slowdown of work process.
To conclude, some employees are unable to maintain the communication with their coworkers or leaders and cooperate. Because of the digitalisation of ways of communication and concentration on the personal achievement of goals a healthy work environment and work progress suffer.
