In today’s contemporary world, there is a view that animals should not be used as food and products in the fields of medicine and clothing. While using animal products has some downsides, I disagree with this viewpoint for a number of reasons.
There are some drawbacks to utilizing animal products in the fields of food, medicine, and manufacturing clothes. From a biological standpoint, one compelling concern is the loss of biodiversity. As people start using animals as food, medicine, and clothing, these individuals tend to hunt and kill them for their meat and skins, which leads to reducing animal spices in nature and naturally results in a loss of biodiversity. Additionally, raising animals for these types of purposes requires substantial resources, including land, water, and energy, leading to land degradation and water scarcity. These factors have a negative impact on nature.
Despite this, using animals for these purposes should not be stopped, in my opinion. The first reason for this has to do with nutritional value. In other words, animal products have some nutritional and beneficial minerals and vitamins that play a vital role in human health, such as iron and vitamins B12 and C1. A lack of these types of minerals can result in some health issues, like anemia and an inadequate immune system. Furthermore, animal agriculture can contribute to sustainable food systems by utilizing lands unsuitable for crop production, which can also lead to economic growth in a country.
In conclusion, using animals in these fields is not without its drawbacks. However, these problems are insignificant compared to the upsides, including nutritional value, provided food systems, and a substantial contribution to economic growth.
