These days (currently, nowadays), it is common (normal) for people to change (move) jobs quite often, while in the past, the majority (most) of people dedicated (devoted) themselves to working in one company. There are benefits and drawbacks to both decisions (choice), but I believe working for one company is mostly a more rational (smart) choice.
Working for one company for many years is obviously a safer choice for many. In other words, by working for one organization, an employee can master (learn) his/her job and enjoy consistency. Salary and status (respect) are also benefits since a person who has worked for the same company for years is often reputable among colleagues (co-workers) and is eligible for a higher wage (salary). However, when a person fully devotes his career to one position, a similar routine can make their life more boring (dull). In comparison, a person who changes jobs frequently (often) is usually the one with openness to experience. To be specific, such an individual is adventurous and curious, meaning there is no fear in trying different jobs. Such a lifestyle is likely to be more interesting, but perhaps not the most stable. As a rule, it is more difficult for such workers to get a raise (increase in salary) or establish themselves in the workplace.
With regard to my viewpoint (opinion), working for one company is usually a better path (way), especially if one values consistency and becoming an expert (specialist). Comfort is also achieved faster when one decides to devote a career to one specific (particular) workplace. By contrast, changing jobs often means going for a more impulsive (spontaneous) lifestyle, with constant risks that are not always justified. The age factor is also an important part of the given conversation since for younger people, it may be more acceptable (normal) to try themselves at different companies, but for older individuals such as myself, the lack of stability tends to be a problem.
To sum up, both options have their advantages and disadvantages, but I think working at one company for a long time is a better choice, mainly because of job security (stability associated with one’s work).
