Band 5: In years 'responsible tourists' try to pay more attention to preserving both the culture and the environment of the place they visit. However, some believe that it is impossible to be a 'responsible tourist'. To what extent do you agree or disagree? (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

In this era of globalisation, tourism is one of the fastest growing industry. Nowadays, some people intent to pay more efforts and focus to save both the art and natural beauty of the site they visit. In contrast, certain individuals contend that no one can be a responsible visitor. I strongly agree with the former statement because some educated personalities and nature lovers can become a responsible tourist.

To begin with, the most notable reason is that with the development in education individuals know the significance of the cultural site such as palaces, castle and religious sites. If any person has good level of civic sence and education they try to protect the art and the natural environment of the site. Moreover, they do not spread garbage on the site, do not harm any sculpture and do not try to take something precious thing of the place illegally, instead they act as a responsible citizen and stop other people to throw trash and harm to the the main site. For instance, according to a report by international tourism organisation, in the last decade the behaviour of tourists has changed positively to the tourists sites due to the development in education.

Additionally, the another reason of this concern is love for nature and art, it attrects people to preserve the beauty of the nature and arcitecture of any famous and loving place. If any person keen to love natural things and appreciate it, he/she do not intent to harm and destroy the natural beauty. For example, I visited the Tulip garden of Srinagar, Kashmir I notice one thing the citizens of Kashmir are really believe in preserving the beauty of that place they instruct tourists about the rules of the garden and monitor visitors’ activity for safety of flowers and fruits of the Tulip garden. Hence, if any individual loves natural beauty and intend to preserve it they can be a responsible visitor.

To conclude, as far as I am concerned, with education and love for nature people can become an accountable tourist in distict categories such as, preserving natural beauty from other people and try to keep clean the site they visit.
