Some believe that increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve traffic and pollution problems, but I completely disagree with this statement. In this essay, I will be discussing about what other solution that might be more effective than increasing the price of petrol.
Firstly, traffic and pollution problem is something that occurs anytime and anywhere nowadays. The increasing numbers of private vehicles worsen the pollution in our area. People argue that by lowering the price of petrol can help with both traffic and pollution I think the statement does not apply to people that lives in the middle class or lower. The price of their daily need not including transportation is already hard to manage with the low income. If we increase the petrol’s price, they will not be able to transport from one place to another. They won’t be able to go buy groceries, to work, or even to visit their own family. Overall it will worsen the economic condition of lower class people and will effect the country.
On the other hand, by increasing the price of the vehicle fuel, it will encourage people to use the less of fuel because of the price since they are expensive. They will have to somehow use public transportation to move from one place to another and it might help reducing the traffic problems.
In conclusion, I personally think that even with increasing the cost of fuel, is still not enough to solve or lessen the traffic and pollution problems that are going around. The disadvantage is still way more impactful and there are almost no benefit in increasing transportation fuel. I suggest that the government gives more attention to the problems and give better solution other than increasing the cost of petrol.
