The government’s participation in its local communities’ life has to be one of the most crucial obligations that the ruling forces have to fulfil in order to keep its citizens happy. Yet, is it only a matter of governmental support or should citizens invest into local amenities themselves is a real question that faces criticism in various societies.
To start with, I can say I mostly agree with the statement. It is rather important for a government to create liveable conditions for local communities in order for the least to thrive, be productive and satisfied. Nonetheless, I don’t think the initiative should only come from the authorities. One of the main indicators of a healthy society is its citizens who are willing to put in work, create grounds for local amenities that suit them best without any state-funded handouts.
Besides the suggested option, I think there are a few options that have a place to be. For example, providing grounds for tourism that can bring influx of funds that might be used for enhancement of local infrastructure that betters the overall spirit of the fellowship. Another option that comes to mind is taking care of the nature that envelops a specific area that the people inhabit, natural preservation always helps any community sustain happiness and appropriate and safe conditions for living.
In conclusion, I would like to point out that there can be many ways for improvement and growth that positively affects the condition of people living in a specific area, it always depends on how pro-active and inventive the community is.
