It’s often argued that senior managers having higher incomes than other employees in a company is a decent factor. While it is true that all employees in a company work under pressure and deserve a decent salary according to their jobs, I firmly agree with the view that senior managers should and deserve to have higher salaries due to several compelling reasons.
To commence with, one of the most significant reasons is that senior managers work with more overwhelming responsibilities in comparison to ordinary workers. Chief managers have to oversee not only the company’s multiple teams but also its daily functions and departments. In other words, the pressure of the job doesn’t devide in equal amounts for the managers as much as it does for regular workers. For instance, an ordinary employee might take a whole day finishing up one task, and by handing the task in, they may finish their working hours of the day and go home. As for managers, they have to both go through many tasks on their own in a single day and check the workers’ jobs and responsibilities in order to guarantee a proper job.
Moreover, another crucial factor to consider is that managers also have the responsibility to choose decent and pertinent employees for the company. This is mainly because each worker is an essential part of the company, like organs are to a functioning body, and if not chosen properly and correctly, the damage can be irreparable. A particularly good example of this is when a worker executes a job that needs delicacy and focus in a hurry and unprepared; the consequences are not only delaying the job but also delaying the progress of the company. Consequently, causing the company, and sometimes other employees, harm.
In conclusion, although some may argue that working in the same company equals earning the same, I strongly believe senior managers deserve the high salaries they are getting due to the reasons discussed above. Therefore, I agree to the full extent.
