Some people believe that parents whose children break the law should be punished because parents are responsible for their children. Although, parents have some responsibility, I believe that they should not be punished because they are not the only person who are responsible for children.
Parents are not the only person who are responsible for the children behaviour. Today, children live an era of new technology and from an early age they use devises such as smartphone, laptop and computer, and most of their time they spend indoor playing online games. These devises have a negative effect on children behavior. One of this negative effects is aggression that might be a outcome of some violence video games. For example, some video games in which children required to kill enemies.
Another significant important reason why parents should not be punished for children’s failure is that children surrounding might have contribution on it. Parents from an early age of their children try to teach them a good manners. However, children as they get older tend to spend more time at school or somewhere with their friends. In this situation when children less likely to spend time at home, parents cannot control them and teach good manners. As a result, children can try to copy their friends manners that are not always good for them and then children might go against the law with their company. However, children in that age cannot fully realize the importance of their surroundings.
However, parents also might be responsible for children’s bad behaviour. Some children live in abusive family and it has a great impact on their mental system. These children might copy their parents manners when they become older. Therefore, it is important for government to control this types of family in which children have abusive relationship with their parents.
In conclusion, I acknowledge that parents might be responsible for children. However, I believe that they should not be punished for children’s failure because there are other factors that have impact in children’s development.
