Positive And Negative

Band 6+: It is becoming very common these days for students to take courses over the Internet instead of in face-to-face classrooms. Why are more students choosing this way of learning? Is this a positive or a negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In the contemporary world, the majority of people are opting for an online education instead of attending offline lessons in person. I believe that this is a negative development, which can lead to a loss of soft skills and problems later on in life.

People who prefer to study online may face a critical issue, which is the decline in soft skills, such as communication, discussion skills, empathy, compassion, and the an ability to work face to face in groups. They are formed only during an in person interaction. If ones are not used or developed, further problems with people’s success in study and work may occur. For instance, a person who has such significant skills might be given a more lucrative job, as they are easy-going and have better interaction with colleagues.

Additionally, education with the usage of online sources can worsen the quality of studying, due to the fact that at home – the most common place for studying, there are many distractors, for example, family members and neighbors can produce lots of much noise and draw your attention for from studies, which leads to inefficient learning. Hence, ones will not gain some critical information for exams or for being a proffessionalist in a studied spheare, that which can lead to difficulties in getting a diploma or a document that proof proves one’s knowledge.

In conclusion, while education via electronic devisces is becoming more and more common, it has some drawbacks, which cannot be overlooked. These include the deteriotation of soft skills and further unpleasant issues in a later life.
