On the one hand, people who advocate that people should compete against each other at workplaces or schools have valid reasons. First of all, trying to be better than others prompt a person to be more motivated and enthusiastic. For example, competition at schools regarding knowledge progress let pupils be more active to study as they try to acquire more knowledge to stand out among groupmates. This brings positive impacts on pupils’ literacy and overall knowledge. Furthermore, the ability to manage a work and achieve a goal independently helps a person to secure their future and can be a guarantee of prosperous career. This means that competition makes a person self-confident and free from reliance on other people during task management. Thus, they will be able to deal with problems effectively in the long run.
On the other hand, proponents of working in collaboration in a daily life believe that cooperating with others brings several benefits. Firstly, working in groups enhances its members to gain new insights from each other. It is undeniable that people with different experiences can be found at work places and this allows newcomers to broaden their horizon considerably about their job. Thus, group work helps less experienced workers to have key knowledge that will be asset in the long run. Moreover, working in collaboration with others can be useful for improving interpersonal skills. To be more specific, a person has to communicate with other members about job or task that they can increase their communication skill simultaneously.
To conclude, progress in study or work and dealing with problems independently are associated with competition in life while expanding knowledge with the help of others and forming a good communication skills are benefits of working collaboratively. Personally, I firmly believe that both competition and cooperation are key factors to live in a successful life which we need competition to boost our productivity in some phases and cooperating to acquire more about subject.
