Opinions are divided over whether we should or should not send messages to connect with intelligent life forms on other planets. Although connecting with them can bring certain future benefits, I firmly believe that at the moment, this action is too dangerous and risky.
Those who believe that we should connect with the aliens have a reasonable point. First and foremost, linking with them may create an opportunity for human to migrate into other planets. Due to the fact that the earth is experiencing population explosion, many people are struggling to find a living place. Connecting with other outer space life forms, actually, can help scientists investigate other planets’ condition and decide the suitable destinations for human. Another contributing factor is that we still lack sufficient understanding about the outer space. Many individuals are aware of the risk that our planet will be invaded by the aliens in the upcoming future. Therefore, creating a link with other intelligent life forms can reduce people’ anxiety , as well as build relationship with other planets.
Despite the reasons listed above, I firmly believe that connecting with other planets poses several risks and challenges. The most notable one is that we lack information about other planets state and their life forms’ behaviors. Connecting with them remains uncertain, for example, if we try to connect with a planet that has been developed to an another level, the aliens living in that place may take the advantage to invade the earth. With the advanced development and technology, they will easily dominate us, resulting in human losing control of their habitats. Furthermore, the action also requires a substantial amount of budget and natural resources. The process is extremely complicated, only the preparation for a trip to the space consumes a considerable amount of fuel and money. Meanwhile, those resources can be invested on the prolonged problems that our planet are facing, such as pollution or global warming.
In conclusion, while connecting with other intelligent life forms on other planets brings us certain advantages, I am convinced that we should not do this because of the uncertainty and potential risks at the moment.
