Nowadays, some people think that traditional festivals and celebrations are becoming more commercial due to buying presents and spending money preparing them so it’s a waste of time and money. I completely disagree with this statement and believe that we really need such festivals.
In my opinion, traditional celebrations are not a waste of time and money because there are not many of them. Firstly, it is a good chance to spend time with friends and relatives. People live in busy cities and have their duties, issues and usually there is not enough free time to hang out altogether with family and friends. Such parties give an opportunity to strengthen their friendships and family bonds. Secondly, people can have a break from daily routine, work, problems and just unwind. Usually individuals work a lot and all their days are similar, therefore, festivals add bright colours to life and have a good impact on people’s happiness and mental well-being as well.
Furthermore, traditional celebrations are a part of culture and we should not forget them. All countries have their own traditions, parties and special environment that are different and unique. Due to this fact we should not refuse our festivals. Money that we spend on it is just an addition to make their atmosphere more attractive and memorable. Personal feelings and cultural heritage still are more important and valuable.
In conclusion, it is clear that traditional celebrations are not a waste of time and money. People need them to maintain mental health and cultural values.
