It is believed that, in the future, many nations will witness the aging population and the smaller working population. In my opinion, this trend is not only positive, but also negative for several reason.
On the one hand, elderly people play an important role in the contemporary world. To begin with, because a mojority of youngsters are full-time employees, they are unable to participate in volunteering activites that is an essential part in the development of society. By contrast, elderly people have not to spend much time working, which enables them to work as volunteers and devote more to the collective community. As a result, this trend can benefit our society at some extend. Secondly, senior people are known for their rich in experience, because they have lived for a long time and witnessed a number of changes in the world. In this way, seniors may hand-on their valuable knowledge to younger individuals, helping them gain deeper insight into many fields.
On the other hand, the aging population may brings a number of considerable drawbacks. The first reason is that, in this day and age, a young workforce is needed to the advancement of a countries. This is because, thanks to a good health, young aldults are able to employ in intensive work and working for a long time. This leads to an increase in social productivity, acting as a vehicle for vigorous economic growth. Additionally, older people are more likely to suffer from health problems. This means if the number of older people raise, there will be a burden on healthcare system due to a an increasing number of patients. Furthermore, with a large amount of entired citizens, governments have to rellocate more resource in retaired pensions. Consequencely, governments may cope with the cutback and underfunding for issues of immediate concern, such as education or infrustructure.
In conclusion, despite some advantages, the aging population still brings some disadvantages to our society.
