Many individuals are of the claim that having a huge budget and reducing leisure time is highly beneficial and should be the goal for people to pursue. Personally, I partly agree with this suggestion based on some major reasons that are explained in this essay.
On the one hand, there are some persuasive rationales that support the claim that people should decrease their free time to concentrate on making money. In this day and age, due to stagnant inflation, the cost of living has increased significantly, causing problems for individuals to pay many different expenses. This would result in their inability to afford it, making them live in a low quality living condition. If individuals can spend more time to earn a living, they can have enough budget to pay for high-cost expenses such as electric bills, fuels, and food.
On the other hand, despite the idealistic benefit of spending much time to earn money, this school of thought actually could bring about several obstacles and problems. Giving much leisure time making money may lead to the lesser relaxing time after work;as a result, many individuals don’t have free time for other entertaining activities; for example watching TV, playing sports or having gathering time with family. It can cause many kinds of issues regarding health, suffering stress and tiredness are common problems that major overtime workers face due to the lack of doing exercises frequently. Consequently, the quality of work may decline if people don’t spend their time on many essential activities without making money.
In conclusion, although there are mixed opinions on determining whether cutting down on leisure time to earn money should be encouraged for everyone. I think that people still need to make money to afford their living cost; meanwhile, improving mental and physical health should be taken more seriously and implemented more regularly.
