Some people think that spending money on vocational training for practical skills is better compared to university education. I partly agree with this statement since it provides higher incomes and a job opportunity.
On the one hand, it is understandable why many think higher education is beneficial. This is because it provides intensive knowledge. These knowledge are requirements for some fields including doctors and architecture. In order to join those fields, workers must have a university certificate which guarantees their knowledge is sufficient for them to work. As a result, those fields can ensure the quality of the employee who can affect other people’s lives or health.
On the other hand, it seems to me that vocational training should be prioritised. With this training, learners will have opportunities to be exposed to practical work. This work can improve their experience and their expertise. As a result, this promotes employee’s living standard through incomes and promotion opportunities. Additionally, some fields demand high employment. With the help of vocational training, learners can join in those high demand fields. This paves the way for them to easily participate in labour markets or apply for a company. As a result, this can partly eliminate the shortage of employment.
In conclusion, I partly agree with the argument that vocational training is vital for learners since it provides a wide range of jobs and also an opportunity for a promotion and higher wage. However, tertiary education offers specific fields with a high quality employee. I suggest that the government should invest in vocational training.
