Nowadays, it is widely believed that everyone, and particularly youngsters, should save money for their future. I partially support his idea, since savings might prepare people for some unexpected situations and difficulties as well as for completing significant objectives like, for instance, buying their own real estate. However, it does not mean that saving money should be the most prioritized way of dealing with earnings.
First of all, saving money is extremely important for everybody because we all need that kind of financial insurance in case of losing a job, struggling with a serious disease or getting in trouble for other reasons which can be quite numerous. Although your salary may seem stable, circumstances can change in one day, that is why you better be safe with extra money in your bank account. Moreover, saving is necessary in order to accomplish such big goals as, for example, travelling to other countries, buying a house or a car, and helping relatives that no longer can take care of themselves. With all these needs which make one’s life more eventful and valuable, it is almost impossible to deny that savings actually can build a future that is safer and happier.
However, I am convinced that young people should not consider money saving as their main task, since adolescence and youth might be the only periods of life when you can travel with minimum comfort, study abroad or spend your salary on different courses and leisure activities which can be extremely useful for your future. From this point of view, there are many ways of how a young person could invest in her/his personal development apart from focusing on saving.
To conclude, I would agree that everyone should save some amount of money which can be later used for various purposes but, at the same time, I strongly believe that young people should not concentrate on saving instead of investing in their future life with the help of journeys, education and other self-developing pastimes.
