Some believe that it is essential for all people, young and old, to save cash for their future. In my opinion, I agree with this belief because saving money can help individuals develop responsible financial habits and deal with emergency situations.
One reason as to why setting aside money is crucial is because it promotes mindful spending. Often, people, especially the youth, tend to make unnecessary and wasteful purchases that do not benefit them in any way. For this reason, saving cash can help individuals avoid wasteful spending as they would be more aware of what they are spending their money on. For example, when teenagers make sure to save a small portion of their allowance each month, they will choose to spend the remaining money on things that truly matter to them. Because they will not have wasted their money on junk food or games, they will be able to eventually save up to buy an item they want, like a phone or book. In this way, people will be able to form good spending habits and achieve financial independence.
Saving money long term is also a great way to overcome any stressful financial burdens that may come their way in the future. If an individual happens to fall into debt, they can use the money they saved to escape that situation. Additionally, they can use that money they put aside to contribute to buying a car or house in the long run. For instance, a lot of people tend to struggle with student loans because of university, and their parents may not be able to pay it all off for them. If they manage to form the habit of saving money early on, they can help ease that burden off their parents’ shoulders and escape that dreadful situation.
In conclusion, saving cash is of utmost importance in order to make thoughtful financial choices and avoid stressful situations. For these reasons, I firmly believe that all people, regardless of age, should try their best to set aside money for their future.
