It is argued that people should undergo risks both in their work and their daily life. I am of the opinion that the upside of this view does outweigh its downside, which will be explored in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, there is a concerning drawback inherent in facing challenges, more particularly, it may lead to pressing aftermaths. Needless to say, if people experience difficulties without preparation and sources of knowledge, they are less likely to handle it. Therefore, it may badly affect their mental and physical well-being, triggering losing heart. Besides, they may come at the expense of invaluable aspects in their life, for instance, the family and a well-paid job.
On the other hand, I strongly assert that the benefits of taking risks are much more significant to some extent. The first one is that it strengthens mental toughness. It is common knowledge that risks are inevitable in people’s lives, thereby with experiences, people can build resilience and readiness to encounter upcoming struggles. Moreover, when people are ready with difficulties, they can build their own credibility and get promotion in their work. Another reason worth mentioning is that taking risks is a chance for people to discover themselves. When people are forced in unexpected situations, they can express unprecedented abilities which can be helpful for them to navigate life routes in the long run.
All in all, after gauging both sides of the aforementioned view, my firm conviction is that it is of paramount importance for people to take risks in both professional and personal lives. Thanks to that, they can acquire in-depth understanding about themselves and develop mental health.
