It is believed that providing university places for a high proportion of young people is not possible nor useful for a country. I completely agree with this because it is not possible for the government and their income that will not be sufficient for other sectors.
The main point for this is that the government does not have enough money on a significant number of students and their different needs. Moreover, if the government spends too much money on this, they will not have enough funds to improve our regions, roads and public sectors. In addition, the government already spends too little on pensions, so they should not spend money or give free places in university to minimize spending and save more money on society.
Another reason to support this view is that universities may become overcrowded. This is because a lot of students will want to apply for government – funded places, which increases competition and strain on the education system. Therefore, it will be detrimental for lecturers’ nervous system and mental health, because it is very important for each institution. As a result, a shortage of books and academic materials may lead to issues for the government budget.
In conclusion, I strongly agree with this point of view, because the government should save more money for medicine, schools, hospitals and food for people. As a result, we should have a balance between free places in university, but private places should also maintain balance and generate income in our society.
