It is argued that developing media such as the Internet will destroy traditional media such as television and newspapers in the future. In the fast-paced world, human beings left behind technology, which can give unlimited resources at anytime. However, old media still has different value.
There is no doubt that the internet provides all the updates immediately and better accessibility than the old-fashioned media. People can access news, videos, songs, and all the trends from anywhere. People can make friends around the world within a minute. Furthermore, young people have more chance to apply better education with the help of technology. Meanwhile, TV channels and newspapers are struggling to get the real-time update on information.
Nevertheless, traditional media holds the standard. People believe that government announcements from television are more reliable than the other resources. Moreover, people remain a trusted source for live events from broadcasting channels, such as in sports, weather forecasts, and some important issues. On the other hand, printing newspapers is declining, so they try to adapt online editions.
On balance, while the internet has shifted the media fields, it is unlikely to entirely replace traditional forms. Both digital and traditional media will continue to coexist with each other and serve the different needs of different audiences.
