In fact, the entrance examination is the most important thing grade 9 students should think about. Although, excessive studying may not always lead to better results, many people hold the belief that juniors should do nothing but focusing on their studies for the examination. From my perspective, I strongly disagree with that opinion for several reasons.
First and foremost, the idea of grade 9 students should do absolutely nothing but studying is a debating one, but solely focusing on studying is not the best approach. Studying too much without resting can result in mental fatigue which can affect their academic performances. According to a recent research, students who study non-stop are likely to suffer from depression, insomnia. Furthermore, cognitive overloaded resulting from excessive studyingrelieve learning efficiency and memory retention. As a consequence, students who studying properly and effectively can have higher grade than the one who have bad study habits.
Moreover, the excessive focus on studying leads to neglect exercise, social interactions, and personal interests and which are crucial. In fact, many juniors prefer studying to caring about their social life, which makes them isolated with people around. For example, students who spend all the time studying may lack teamwork and communication skills which is fundamental for students’ development.
In conclusion, the explanations above suggest that the excessive studying among grade 9 juniors can do more harm than good. Even though the examination for their desired high school is crucial, students should study effectively in order to foster further development in their academic achievements.
