In recent years, numerous health diseases have made vaccine become integral for the public’s well-being. However, it is argued that vaccination should be decided to be taken or not by individuals. Although I contemplate that citizens need to get vaccinated compulsorily, I also believe that they can be enabled to decide.
On the one hand, citizens’ opposition to be provided with vaccination has detrimental impact on public’s concerns. In light of the fact that these individuals are not secured by vaccine, they are more prone to having more severe conditions than the vaccinated. For that reason, the dissemination of the unprotected will wreak great havoc on public’s health. Consequently, the effort of a society to precaution against the outbreak of a disease can be devastated by few unaware residents. To exemplify, in 2020, while Vietnamese along with their government were striving to stay safe during Covid-19, minor overseas, who denied having vaccine, made the situation go from bad to worse. That is why I acknowledge that the society should be obliged to be vaccinated.
On the other hand, individuals should be able to opt for vaccination or not. On condition of the fact that people have the rights to decide everything in relation to their fitness, they can resist to a protection for their body or not. To illustrate this point, I would like to mention that patients having specific illnesses relating to heart or lungs can consider not to take vaccine owing to its side effects. That is to say, residents should be enabled to make decisions to be vaccinated or not.
In conclusion, citizens should not be entitled to choose to be vaccinated, but I think there should be options for people, since they have the decision for themselves. Nevertheless, each individual should show their solidarity to their community by protecting themselves from various diseases.
