It is often argued that TV programs have negatively affected the growth of our society due to the presence of violent scenes, which is why there should be a smaller number of them. This essay will agree with this statement as TV has a direct influence on children and can divulge the use of violence as the correct thing to do.
Firstly, young people can be influenced by violent films and be scandalized for the rest of their lives. In other words, youth do not have a proper awareness of the ethical distinction between good and bad behavior as they are too young. That is why, they could interpret a violent action as the only way to solve problems. For example, it has been increasingly common that when parents go out during the night, children are left alone to watch TV and accidentally jump into a violent program. Without the presence of an adult, they can interpret the scene wrongly and start to behave like in the violent film.
Secondly, divulging many aggressive programs can make people think that violence is a normal behavior. In addition, having the habit of seeing people who act brutally on TV, may not trigger any reaction if it happens to us in real life, because we have become accustomed to seeing it. Indeed, soldiers from the Second World War were used to watching aggressive actions in order not to be scandalized anymore by aggressive actions.
In conclusion, there should be a limitation of violent TV programs as children can be quickly influenced by them, and people start to see violence as a habitual action.
