Band 5+: It is said that watching TV is a waste of time for children. To what extent, do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is undeniable that the growing trend of children nowadays spend overtime on devices. From my perspective, I strongly agree with this statement because it causes many mentel health and behavior issues of children. In the following paragraph, the reasons to support my opinion will be discussed in detail before the conclusion is reached.

There is no doubt that there are several disadvantages if kids overwatch on television. One of the key factors influencing is that spending time on electric devices allows children to have an inactive life style. To illustrate, children in many nations around the world, such as Thailand, U.S.A., and so on, waste their time more than one-thirds of a day for watching cartoons instead of doing homework or doing outdoor activities which leads to insomnia due to TV addiction. Moreover, there are some contents that can influence children to do inappropriate actions, such as violences, sexual harassment, and so on.

On the other hand, others assume that watching television during young ages has benefits to pupils. The primary reasons is that the average of age of young children between 1 and 6 years old is the best average to memorize the languages and culture. There are study from youtube channel of Thai mother in fant who settles in Japan shows that she allows her children to watch cartoons only in foreign languages namely, Thai, Russian, and English for her sons because after she send her son (4 yeras old) to primary school in Japan, her sons can speak Japanese as native people. Another advatage of this trend is that watching TV offers dreams amd confidences to children about their carrer prospections in the future.

In conclusion, It seems to me that the nagative effects of this trend outweigh positive impacts. Therefore, it would be more effective if parents limit time to their kids for spending on devices 1-2 hours per day and educate them what content should not be imitated.
