There is an ongoing concern of dying local languages that caused by the globalization and the needs to be able to speak english. While I am aware that the needs of local language are decreasing, I believe school still need to teach them to the students.
Local languages are becoming less and less desired by students due to its unpopularity. Should we stop teaching it to them? I feel like that is not the wisest solution. Because traditional languages are heritage of a country, a sign of diversity and culture, something that we should conserve and embrace.
I fully acknowledge that with the growing rate of the globalization and english language as accepted international language It is very important that our students are able to speak them properly so they can contribute to the global world. but on the other side, these local languages are essential tools to keep these students connected to their roots.
In conclusion, while I realized that the local language becoming more irrelevant, I fully support the decision to keep teaching the local languages, because it is an important asset of a country that we cant let it go disappear.
