The English language has become vital for every school, so important that local languages have been left out. It is a must to study it, for sure everyone should have access to learn English, and at the same time schools also should try to encourage the local language.
English is the Universal language, which directly makes it one of the most important things that a person should know. It is such a powerful tool for studying, working, and for being able to communicate with the whole world. By simply learning English, I could go everywhere I planned to go without any language barrier, and my professional field is much broader everywhere I would like to go.
As English is becoming more and more important lately, local languages have been left behind. Schools should totally encourage more to keep learning it because local languages are part of our roots, our story and our culture. It is part of us, and it is what makes us different from every other country. For instance, Paraguay has two native languages, one of them is called “Guarani”, yet Paraguayans barely speak it, which is a very concerning situation.
Therefore, schools should incentive both. Credits hours should be given in English and in the native language, equally important. As a result, students will be able to master the two and they will immediately become more prepared for their futures.
In conclusion, we all know the importance of English, in addition to that, it is the most widely spoken language worldwide, but we must never also forget where we come from, which means never leave behind our roots, our native language.
