In recent years, English has became a global language. Speaking English is a pre-request in many areas like business, tourism, public relations. In my perspective, learning English at school is very important. In this essay, I try to explain why people need to learn English and how they can preserve their local languages.
Since English has spoken wide range of the World, knowing English has became a necessity to communicate with other people. All children can not get a chance to learn English from their home. They need to go to school to learn English. Many of them, can not afford taking English lessons from tutors. For this reason, I believe that English should be taught at schools. Beside this, at homes, parents should talk their children at their native languages. In this case, there would be no risk of local languages dying out.
Secondly, to prevent local languages extinctions, education language should be local language rather than English. Mother language education is very crucial for the young children. They need to be comfortable when they are learining different subjects. If they have difficulties about understanding subjects due to the English, learning English process can not be succesful. For instance, if a child speaks Turkish at home, and exposed to English history lessons, she probably have difficulties about understanding of the history. Even if she understands, she may not have confidence to talk about this subject due the foreign language limitations. For this reason, I try to say that English should be taught as a lesson not for an education language. With this method, children can learn both their local languages and English properly.
To sum up, I strongly recommended that learning English should be taught at school as a lesson to get along with the globalisation and mother language or local language should be education language to save local languages.
