Nowadays, adults tend to say that their childhood and schooldays were their best years and the younger generation should enjoy it as much as possible. There are numerous reasons behind this saying, and this essay will discuss the main ones before concluding.
To begin with, when one is becoming older, they gain more responsibility on their shoulders, and having it can become a burden and put too much weight on a person’s shoulder. For instance, having a job that relies on you and a family that you need to provide for it is not a piece of cake.
It is undeniable that this process cannot be enjoyable, and after that, it is no surprise that they start to miss the old days.
Moreover, grown-ups are inclined to associate their younger life with freedom and independence with no strings attached. While it is true that being a kid is mostly simple, they have no worries; they should not think about finances and finding a job, but it is not always like that, a person’s best years can start after graduating from school, it always depends. For example, one can easily get bullied in schools or online, and they are obligated to attend school even if it makes their life a living hell, not everyone’s parents are so generous and kind towards them. In other words, adults may idolize children’s lives when there is nothing to idolize. I personally believe that if an adult are constantly crying about how their youth was greater than their present life, maybe they should make time for self-reflection and understand what is making them so unhappy at the moment. An individual is making their destiny, so it is only up to anyone.
In conclusion, while there are reasons why a person may believe that youth life may be better than adult life, I tend to believe that there are much deeper issues behind this statement in a person.
