In recent years, the number of animal species being endangered and eventually disappear is increasing significantly. There are many reasons for this issue, but human can solve this problem by learning how to preserve these species. In this essay, I will indicate some main causes that lead to this problem, as well as giving some possible solutions for human to carry out.
To begin with, there are three primary causes that result in this issue. Firstly, it is habitat loss that is caused by both human activities and natural factors. Climate change has occurred for decades in humans’ life, which makes many natural phenomena become strange. For example, ice smelting, which is resulted from global rising temperature, makes sea level rise and limits the living space of some animals such as polar bear and penguin. Besides, as humans’ life is becoming more and more develop, the needs for accommodation as well as consumption are increasing. As a result, many natural places such as fields, forests are destroyed to construct houses and industrial areas, which not only causes pollution but also restricts animals’ habitat. Secondly, poaching is a noticeable reason that reduces the number of animal species. Some poacher does this illegal activity since they can receive financial benefits from trading endangered species. Take Vietnam as an example, legal about poaching in this country is not seriously carried out, and many Vietnamese people still see animal as a kind of food, so the number of animals, especially endangered species, being poached in Vietnam yearly is extremely high. In addition, other cause of this problem is the introduction of predator species. Some dangerous animals such as lions or tigers appear in the same places with other species that are included in their food chain. If human do not separate these predator species from other animals, more endangered species will be lost.
There are some ways human can do to preserve vanishing species. The first solution is that the government makes stricter penalties on industry. This method can reduce the chances some individuals or organizations illegally destroy animal habitat for industrial purposes. Second, tougher controls on hunting of protected species are especially required. To prevent hunting activities, strict rules about this issue have to be made, and people who do poaching must suffer from harsh punishments. Additionally, creation of reserves and breeding centers are vital factors to perverse endangered species. These species need to live in good condition with adequate food amount to survive and safe from predator animals’ attack. For instance, many endangered species in Vietnam are protected in Cuc Phuong National Park where they can live in peacefulness, which helps to remain their current number. Moreover, it is extremely important to educate people about preservation. This way can raise humans’ awareness of protect animals by showing love or doing practical activities to preserve endangered species. For example, teaching children about wildlife can make them understand the responsibility of preserving animals. In this case, this way is an advantageous solution to protect these species.
In conclusion, although loss in endangered species is a serious problem in these days, there are still ways human can do to preserve these animals. Rules and education are two significant factors for preservation in the long term.
