Band 4+: Many companies are now encouraging employees to engage in activities that promote physical and mental well-being. Is this primarily the responsibility of employers, or should individuals take greater responsibility for their own welfare? Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is well said that sound body have sound mind. A person with better physical and mental health can be more focused and determined than a person with bad physicue and poor mental health. The person with healthy mind and body can work more efficently. In this way , a man with good health can be more beneficial for the companies thats why many companies are now encouraging employees to engage in the activites that promote fitness.

It is a quite difficult to determine whether the responsibility for an employee’s healthlies with the employer or with the employee himself. Both kind of views are supported by the public. Both of these views are discussed below.

According to the people, employer must be accountable for his employees’ health because of various reason.Firstly, as they are working for him it is his duty to take care of their mental and physical health. He must aware of their health. They should not be burden that they do not get enouh time for themselves. Giving free time to employees during working hours , to get relax and maintain their mental health, is employer’s duty. This will not help working people but also for the employer. If they remain health and fit , they will definatily work more hard and this will help company to acheive their required targets .

In the other hand, many people believe that giving free time to employees is not enough untill the employees are sincere with themselves. A person must be aware of the benefits of health . A person will fall ill if do not take care of his health. The person must do walk or jogging ,either in the morning or in the evening, to get rid of the office fatigue.. Sitting on chair ,with straight back, make pressure on backbone which can cause permanent damage to backbone if the person is not doing enough exercise daily .Exercise must be the part of the working person’s routine. If he dnt do so if will regert it in his old age.

In my opinion, an employee must do exercise and take care of his physical health by his own and he should consume the leisure time during office hours to rela his mind and do something which can improve his mental health.
