Space technologies became more and more flourishing since many countries built the International Space Station. However, the total cost of space projects is a numerous number that scientists and the governments should consider and plan very cautiously before they start a new project.
Space technologies and exploration are essential to human’s development. One of the main benefits is that people can achieve many things by the assistance of space equipment. For example, satellites play an important role in the global positioning system, which allows people to check their position on the map easily. In addition, exploring space can help scientists find the resources of life, research for the solar system and other profound studies.
Others argue that the International Space Station is not essential and is very costly. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the International Space Station is still crucial for the space industry. The main purpose of the International Space Station is to provide an occasion for astronauts to stay and work. Some people claim that robots and machines can replace astronauts in the future. However, in some cases, robots and machines are not able to solve some problems such as repairing tiny components of the space facilities, and we need to rely on astronauts and the International Space Station.
On the other hand, some individuals think that the government should spend more budgets on social programs or tax cuts instead of the space. In my perspective, they are totally different things, and taking money from one to another does not make sense at all.
In summary, development of the space industry and building the International Space Station bring certain advantages to humans, so people should not sacrifice the cost for other irrelevant aspects. Also, scientists and the government should also think carefully when they decide to launch a new mission.
