Sport plays a crucial role in improving the health , both mental and physical. The importance of the matter rises significantly for the senior citizens. However, many elders do not feel inclined to dedicate their time and energy to this activity, because their energy levels are lower, compared to youngsters, and they may not see noticable results quickly.
The reason for this issue is the undeniable fact, that elders are not in their prime anymore. They are not tenacious enough to do an activity daily, which draws most of their energy for the day. As well as that, it is harder to build muscles, when the body turn old, because the efficiency of the body has declined and the years of living take their toll on the body. For instance, most athletes resign from professional sports, as a result of showing gradually reduced performance over the course of time.
To tackle this problem, the government should stablish free social events and classes, for elderly, to encourage them to pay attention to their health. Through this classes, they may find like-minded friends that makes the activity more enjoyable. Consequently, they are encouraged to leave their house and participate in such activities, to at least have chatter with their friends, while they are exercising. For example, in many affluent countries, there are so many social events that people can take part in. The result of many researches show that attending these events helped individuals not only by boosting their physical health, but also by improving their mental health.
To summarize, many elderlies may not be eager to work out daily, as a result of their lower patience and the need to work a lot harder to witness their efforts yield results. To reverse their trend, government funded programs, which are related to sport, can be quite fruitful over the years.
