The topic of landscaping in cities offers both pros and cons, each of which plays a significant role. While there are some clear merits to overplanting of greenery, its negative aspects should not be disregarded.
On the one hand, a key advantage of landscaping is improved air quality, as it provides better health conditions for citizens. Having a large number of vegetation particularly in urban areas, can considerably reduce the impact of greenhouse effect, that is becoming increasingly common in cities all around the world. For example, Almaty, which is one of the largest cities of Kazakhstan, was suffering from air pollution and smog for decades. However, the attempts of new ecological program, which aimed to plant more trees in city, has contributed to some significant changes occurring in the air quality, and most of the local residents were delighted by the improvements in the health conditions. Subsequently, planting trees enhances the well-being of people, by making the surrounding environment more environmentally friendly
On the other hand, a major drawback of this issue is space limitations, which leads to restricted comfort of citizens. Excessive planting of greenery may cause a lot of inconvenience in urban settings, as, trees take up the large area of land, can conflict with the need of transportation, housing and other commercial services. Therefore, prioritising landscaping may lead to various challenges, which can worsen the living conditions of people.
In conclusion, I believe that, although landscaping presents several advantages, its disadvantages, such as limited living opportunities for local individuals can not be ignored.
