Nowadays, the number of obese people is increasing significantly due to sedentary lifestyle and availability of fast foods and is leading to some negative consequences in individuals’ well-being. I will explore reasons and possible steps that should be taken in order to reduce this phenomenon, including lessening consumption of processed food and encourage people to active lifestyle, in my essay below.
It is undeniable that, availability of fast food worldwide made people to rely on processed foods rather than making healthy dish in their daily basis. In this fast-paced world, people are busy with their careers or studies so that there is less time for them to make a lunch or dinner at home, which means they usually prefer to go or order ready meals in their rush hours. Moreover, although technology has brought many benefits, it has also encouraged people to adopt a sedentary lifestyle: people tend to choose cars over bicycles or just walking to reach their destination, communicating with each other via mobile devices instead of face-to-face interaction, which really discourage people from physical activities and which can result in bad consequences. To cite as an example, studies has proven that lack of physical activity can lead to weaker muscles and poor posture, increasing the risk of chronic back pain and joint issues.
One of the possible solutions can be encouraging people to adopt healthier eating habits and reduce their reliance on fast food. Educating people about healthy eating can help them understand how consuming processed foods contributes to obesity and its associated health risks. In addition, motivating them to live an active lifestyle can also be meaningful way. This includes regular physical activities like walking, cycling or engaging in sports. Communities and government can provide accessible recreational spaces and organize fitness programs to make physical activities more appealing and this approach can play a crucial role in reducing obesity and enhancing overall well-being.
In conclusion, obesity is becoming global problem in many countries on account of processed food and fewer physical activeness, however, I personally consider minimizing fast food intake and starting balanced lifestyle as an important approach.
